David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold the World” was de-constructed as a jazz track by the Jeff Herr Corporation in 2014. Brought down to a raw jazz trio and without the lyrics, it takes on a completely new colour.

British star Adele, who hit the million-sale mark almost immedately when she recently released the single “Hello”, will premiere the track on French TV this Saturday. The annual French award show NRJ Music Awards features major artists every year. Ed Sheeran, Cats on Trees, David Guetta, Ellie Goulding and Sam Smith amongst the nominees this year. The hsw is held in the same venue as the Cannes Film Festival.
It is possible to catch the show on TF1 via satellite – or simply wait a few hours unti teh videos start appearing on YouTube and elsewhere!
Music trade fair Midem has announced new dates for 2016. After years of being held in the cold month of January, it switched to early June in 2015 and announced dates in late June in 2016.
The organisers have been able to bring Midem forward and have announced the dates of June 7-10, 2016. This will be the 50th anniversary of Midem, with suitable celebrations being planned. It will also mean that participants can enjoy that famous Cannes sunshine rather than the colder and wetter January weather in January.
